Video is priced per second, by model: 1.5–75 credits / second for video generation (8–375 for a 5s clip) and 5–10 credits / second for video editing (25–50 for a 5s clip).

## Frequently asked questions about Samsa pricing

### How much does Samsa cost?

Starter costs CHF 49 per month, or CHF 39 per month billed yearly, for 500 credits (about 100 images). Basic costs CHF 99 (CHF 79 billed yearly) for 1,250 credits, and Standard CHF 149 (CHF 119 billed yearly) for 2,000 credits. Enterprise is priced individually. Billed yearly, Starter, Basic and Standard cost about 20% less per month. All prices exclude VAT.

### Is there a free plan or a free trial?

No. Samsa has no free plan, and Starter, Basic and Standard come with no free trial and no free credits: creating your account is free, but to generate, you need a plan. Model training is free and unlimited on every plan. Enterprise customers can ask for a trial, for example after a demo: [book a demo](/get-demo/) or write to [enterprise@samsa.ai](mailto:enterprise@samsa.ai).

### How do credits work, and do unused credits roll over?

Every plan comes with a monthly credit allowance, and each action uses credits:

- Free: Training a new model (unlimited on every plan)

- 5 credits: Generating an image at 1K (10 at 2K, 20 at 4K)

- 5 credits: Editing an image at 1K (10 at 2K, 20 at 4K)

- From 8 credits: A 5-second video clip, depending on the model

Unused credits do not roll over: they expire at the end of each month. The credit system can change at any time.

### Can I train my own AI model on my brand?

Yes, on every plan. Training is free and unlimited and takes about 15 seconds. One reference image is enough to start, and 2–5 give the best results. You can train models on your style, your products, your people or your scenes, and every model stays private to your organization.

### Do I get commercial usage rights for the images?

Yes, on every plan, provided you hold the rights to the images you train your models on. You can then use the generated images for e-commerce, advertising, print, social media and any other commercial purpose. ### Where is my data stored, and is Samsa GDPR compliant?

Your data is stored in the EU, with our primary data center in Frankfurt; some AI processing is done by providers outside the EU, as described in the [privacy policy](/privacy-policy/). Samsa is GDPR compliant, offers a data processing agreement (DPA), uses end-to-end encryption and runs regular security audits. Your uploads train only your own models, never other customers’ models. Samsa Labs AG is a Swiss company based in Lucerne.

### Is Samsa compliant with the EU AI Act?

Yes. Samsa is EU AI Act compliant. As Article 50(2) of the EU AI Act requires, images and videos generated or substantially edited with Samsa are marked as AI-generated in machine-readable form: they carry C2PA Content Credentials and an imperceptible watermark, which a public detection service can read. If you have disclosure duties of your own as a deployer (Article 50(4)), Samsa offers visible AI labels based on the official EU icons, and you can also upload your own visible AI labels in your brand’s design. SVG exports are not yet covered by the machine-readable marking, and you confirm this before you download an SVG.

Samsa is also a signatory of section 2 of the Code of Practice on Transparency of AI-generated Content, the section for deployers of generative AI systems: the European Commission lists Samsa among the organizations that signed the code before the AI Act’s marking obligations took effect on 2 August 2026 ([European Commission announcement](https://digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu/en/news/strong-backing-code-practice-transparency-ai-generated-content)).

### Is there an onboarding session for teams new to AI?

Yes. Samsa needs no design skills, and you don’t start alone: Starter includes an assisted first model training, and Basic, Standard and Enterprise include an onboarding session.
